Building on an already versatile system, players can now add yet another layer of customization to their scenarios and gameplay. The update also includes seventeen new or newly revised scenarios by popular TOAW III scenario designers, a handful of bug fixes, and some improvements to game design which will make cheating in a PBEM game more difficult.  In addition, this update includes an option to display unit bombardment range as well as improved unit pathfinding and a number of programmed opponent enhancements.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said, “Ever since Matrix Games acquired the TOAW series, we’ve been excited with the gamers’ response to our efforts to not only bring this classic back to the market, but to continue supporting, updating and improving it as well. We feel with this new release of TOAW III that the TOAD team has done it again to provide the maximum playability for all TOAW III fans.”

James Mathews, of the TOAD development team, added, “We’re happy to not only support customers who play a great game like TOAW III right out of the box, but to also encourage and support customers who like to tinker with their own scenarios and game files as well. If user-created scenarios and equipment files make the game more enjoyable and keep the community strong, we’re all for it.”

The Operational Art of War series is legendary in both its scope and flexibility. The innovative TOAW III system allows you to play and create any battle from the entire 20th century of warfare and up to the modern day. Standing as testament to TOAW’s enduring versatility are over 200 Scenarios which come with TOAW III. Not including scores of extra user-created scenarios are 130 of the best scenario designs of the last five years, along with more than 70 classic TOAW scenarios from the original series. Long time veterans of the TOAW system will also see vast updates to anti-armor, anti-air, nuclear and low mobility combat modeling, in addition to an overhauled and fiercer than ever AI.
