Posted: Thursday, March 18, 2010 by Sean Drummy

Type: Press Release

New scenarios, a fix to the routing units crash, and plenty more for both Field of Glory and its expansion

Matrix Games and Slitherine Strategies (www.slitherine.com) are pleased to release another update for their highly touted Field of Glory gaming system. The comprehensive 1.1.2 update will update both Field of Glory and its expansion, Rise of Rome, and comes with a fix for a crash that may occur when routing units, a number of new scenarios by users, in addition to a few other fixes and tweaks.

Please note: It is strongly recommended that all customers install this update. This update is required to continue using the multiplayer feature in both Field of Glory and Rise of Rome.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “The Field of Glory system is fast becoming a real contender in the ancient warfare realm. Matrix Games and Slitherine are committed to improving and augmenting this fantastic series and we’re thrilled to see such continued enthusiasm from the community!”

Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents ancient combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield.

Field of Glory – Rise of Rome is the first expansion pack for Field of Glory, bringing tons of new content and features in addition to a comprehensive Digital Army Generator (DAG). The DAG allows you to design armies to a specific number of points and then take these armies in to single player against the AI or online in multiplayer. Making its first ever appearance on a Slitherine title, the DAG is a powerful tool for any wargames addict! If the ability to create one’s own finely tuned army isn’t enough, Rise of Rome also includes 5 new terrain types, 6 new battles, a random battle generator, and over 100 new units including camelry, scythed chariots and artillery!

This update is comprehensive and will bring all previous versions of Field of Glory and Rise of Rome to version 1.1.2.  This update is required to continue using the multiplayer feature in Field of Glory and Rise of Rome so it is strongly recommended that all Field of Glory owners install this update.
